Blinkova with biggest success in her career

Anna Blinkova after 2hrs 17 minutes overwhelmed on Tuesday early morning Romanian Monica Niculescu, WTA ranked 32, 6-2 4-6 6-4 in the 1st round in Melbourne! For 18 years old EMPIRE Tennis Academy member, born in Moscow, it is the biggest success in her career.
In a second round this morning she has lost to number 5 seed and WTA number 5 Czech Karolina Pliskova 0-6 2-6.

Anna Blinkova exclusively for www.empire-tennis-academy.com: “This match was difficult, it was terribly hot, 35 degrees Celsius. My opponent is very experienced and has a heavy forehand. She is also very fast-moving. I started active, all went for me. In the second set I was tired, we had long rallies where my opponent was better. My 1st serve was not working, I could not win my own serve games. We were fighting hard for every point. In the third set at 3:4 I started to play everything to her backhand because it is more convenient to me. Then it was easier to play for me. Finally I won but I thought I will collapse on the court, so hot it was there," added Blinkova.

Two players from Trnava EMPIRE Tennis Academy have qualified to the main draw the Australian Open 2017: Rebecca Sramkova and Anna Blinkova. Ons Jabeur lost in the final and Andrej Martin lost in the first round of qualifiers.
20 years old Rebecca Sramkova has achieved her biggest success in career so far by overwhelming 33 years old Virginia Razzano in the AUS Open qualifiers finals 6-3 7-5. Frenchwoman was at her best years number 16 in the world. Sramkova was already at the edge of defeat against American Jamie Loeb in the second round but finally succeeded in 3 sets 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 after 127 minutes of battle royal. Sramkova was twice 2 points away from losing when Loeb was serving for the match at 4-6, 4-5. Sramkova then lost in the main draw 1st round to Ying-Ying DUAN from China 3-6 4-6.

Tunisian Ons Jabeur and Anna Blinkova were also fighting in the final of the Melbourne qualifiers, Blinkova won her match against compatriot Anastasiya Komardina 6-4 6-2.
