She did it again. Anhelina Kalinina won another tournament in Florida

Anhelina Kalinina, member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy, who is coached by Vladimir Platenik, won second tournament in a row in Florida. She was able to win the title on Daytona Beach last week and the upcoming week she proved her best form by winning the title again – this time at Orlando ($25,000). She has got also 50 points for WTA ranking.

Anhelina Kalinina beat Canadian Katherine Sebov and after that three American girls in advanced: Claire Liu, Caitlin Whoriskey and Jessica Pegula. That's mean she advanced to the final, where she has got the same opponent as in the previous 1st round of the tournament in Daytona Beach – Austrian girl Julia Grabher. But Anhelina did it again. This time it was tougher, she needed three sets – comparing to the previous tournament – but the winner was the same. Kalinina won the final 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.

“I am so glad our tournament schedule is going the right way. Although Anhelina did not play very well since the start of the first tournament, she learned a lot. She started second tournament in much better shape from the first round. It is not true concerning the last game, where she feels a lot of pressure, but she fought with it. Luckily, it was enough for her to win again. She still needs to do some things automatically. It’s good for her to play a lot of matches, but we need to train a little bit too. So, she will be playing one more competition and than we go back to Trnava be ready to continue with the training,” said her coach Vladimir Platenik.
