Pavlickova did well in Cyprus, eliminated second seeded

Timea Pavlickova of EMPIRE Tennis Academy made her way all the way into the semi-final of Aphrodite Cup in Cyprus and earned 30 points to the ITF ranking. In Limassol, U18 category tournament (Grade 3) was played on clay.

"Timea played really well in the first round, won very difficult match. Last year, she lost against the same Irish opponent in three sets. This time, she came from behind 4-6, 3-5 to win the match in three sets 4-6, 7-5 and 6-1. In second round she met Russian Shalimova. She was tough opponent, played hit or miss and it was difficult for Timea to catch rhythm. However with maximum concentration and responsibility she had the match under control and won it. In third round, Timea played French Girard. Timea had perfect start into the game, opponent was hopeless and Timea was dominant on the court. Played active tennis and tactically exceptional performance, a part of small issues," described her path into the semi-final coach Martin Durdik.

Timea Pavlickova played on Friday at 10.00 in semi-final against home third seed, Eliza Omirou. Unfortunately, Timea Pavlickova fell short and lost in three sets, after giving tough battle to the Cypriot player 7-6(4), 4-6, 2-6. Timea will be awarded thirty points into the combined junior ITF ranking. "Omirou won the whole tournament. She beat first seed in the final 6-2, 7-6. Timea was the only player to take her a set and played most competitive match with her in Limassol," added Durdik.
