Tereza Mihalikova reached finals in Romania

Tereza Mihalikova, EMPIRE Tennis Academy member who is coached by Croat Stefan Vukov from the same academy reached another ITF singles final in Romania. After 3 hours battle royal she lost to the local player in 3 sets 3:6, 6:3, 6:7(7).

Currently ranked 468 at the WTA rankings Tereza Mihalikova played in Romanian city Targu Jiu, Romania at the ITF 15,000$ event where she reached the finals, she repeated last month performance from Egypt, where she played with Vera Zvonareva.

Tereza Mihalikova defeated in the semifinals Astra Sharma of Australia in 2 sets, then she was playing with local player Ylona Ghioroaie, number 645 in the world. It was their first meeting at all. After a thrilling match, Tereza did not convert match-points in the final set tie-break and eventually lost in 3 sets 3:6, 6:3, 6:7 (7). She will get 7 points into the WTA rankings.

„My opponent played at a much higher level today than her current position in the rankings reflects. She went for every ball, and played lots of winners. The same happened in the third set, I was up 6:2 in the breaker. But I was a bit passive at that moment, she went for every single point. She was mentally stronger today. I'm on my way home and I hope that next tournament in Romania will end with win for me," added Tereza Mihalikova for www.empire-tennis-academy.com
