Laguza with another title from Ukraine

EMPIRE Tennis Academy, Anna Laguza, Kiev, Ukraine, Tennis Europe, U16 tournament

The member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy in Trnava Anna Laguza is enjoying successful period of her career. After winning doubles last week in Czech town Rakovnik and reaching singles semi-final of U14 tournament, she managed to win another doubles title in Kiev. Tennis Europe U16 tournament took place in Kiev. She reached semi-final of singles competition as well.

Antei Cup 2015 was played on clay courts in Kiev and was rated as category 2 event. Mostly Ukrainian players fought for the title and , number one seed Anna Laguza, played decent role in her home environment. Kiev born player is happy with her results, although she wanted to achieve more in singles. "I'm happy to play the singles semi-final. But to be honest, I had the chance to win the whole tournament. My opponent (Maryna Chernyshova) was in superb form that day and showed better performance, but she admitted herself, that weather helped her as well. Courts were soft, sodden and semi-final match was twice interrupted. I was 4-2 up in first set, but failed to take the first set. But I really enjoy playing at home, I like it here," said Anna Laguza, trainee of Vladimir Platenik, about the semi-final match, which she lost 5-7, 3-6.

Interestingly enough, together with her semi-final opponent Chernyshova, member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy Anna Laguza grabbed the doubles title. They were the first seeded pair.
