Artem Dubrivnyy won an ITF Tournament in Georgia

Russian member of EMPIRE Tennis Academy Artem Dubrivnyy, coached by Karol Beck, has won singles ITF Tournament in Telavi, Georgia as he beat in the final Iranian Khaledan 6-2 2-6 6-2. Artem won his second ITF event this year, the first title grabbed in March on Moscow hard surface.

Artem Dubrivnyy, who trains at EMPIRE Tennis Academy with coach Karol Beck, started whole tournament in Georgia with Russian Zakharov (he retired in the first set), in the second round he beat former winner from the same tournament one week ago Argentinian Arrechea (7-6, 6-4) and then he overcame also Romanian player Ghilea 6-0, 6-4.

“Artem during the game with Ghilea had to fight with difficult conditions, it was hot. Even the opponent played a little bit more defensively, so both players needed to spend more time on the court to win the point. After the previous week, Artem had to withdraw of the tournament because of back problems, we do not use any fitness exercises. So, he missed them a little bit, but he fought and won the game. I have to be satisfied,” said Karol Beck after Dubrivnyy advanced to the last four.

Artem played solid game also in the semi-final as he beat Ukrainian Oleg Prihodka 7-6 6-4. And the in Sunday he beat also Iranian Khaledan 6-2 2-6 6-2 in the final. He has got 18 points to the ATP ranking and had a reason to celebrate his second ITF title this year – after Moscow victory on hard in March.

Artem Dubrivnyy had trouble during the first game, but than he started to play his game and the first set was going his way. The opponent tried to play defensively, rely on long shot. Than came some mistakes from Artem. He stopped playing his game, admitted the play opponent wish to use, which was mistake. He lost second set and starts the third one, which was purely fight for every point. In the end. Dubrivnyy played more constant and reached the winning end. But he deserves the title, he was performing well whole week,” said Karol Beck for www.empire-tennis-academy.com.
